  1. Just reread the peice about Derbyshire , I did get given a gold location for Derbyshire and talked with a guy who had panned it , he said it was small goldust only. Which with hindsight knowledge I would have expected as its in all probability a secondary deposit site, because of the prevailing rocks in the area. Id suggest a walk around the BlueJohn mines near Bakewell as you may find the Blue John of intrest at the goldpanning Championships. Plus try panning the stream down from the mines. You might pan things of great intrest there!!!!!!

  2. Just joined the site and ive started to write a peice about prospects of making a living from gold panning in Britain. It may be of intrest as I made my living as a professional goldpanner from 1989 to 1995, in Britain.

No gold here though as far as I know, so Scotland is still the place to go.

  17. It was great to hear the site is up and running again - and it looks fantastic. Well done. See you in May - and maybe we could use the site to help us pre-register folk for the competition? Let me know.
